It was late one evening when my friend called excited about a book she was presently reading. I listened to her as she talked about a woman who was able to heal herself after being diagnosed with a huge tumor. I however, knowing that this happens all the time in this world, was not thrown over board by this miracle.
Hey, it happens! I come from the belief that self-healing is not only possible but it is our birthright.
My friend said to me with a serious but excited voice, "you have to read this book. This is what you do in your practice. You believe this stuff."
I stopped to fully listen to the message within the message. I smirked over the phone, I am not the only one who believes this stuff. There is a world out there and her included that believes this stuff. The challenge is how to simplify it so others can benefit from it and pass it on.
"Of course I will read this book when you are done. How many pages is it?" I asked. "It’s about 160 pages and when you are done, I need to mail to someone else. We have to pass the word about this book." "Okay, okay, not a problem I will finish it in a couple of days." This was after all, a story of a miracle and I love stories of miracles. It would be a quick read, or so I thought.
Two weeks into the book, I told her I had marked it with a highlighter and written on it. I offered to buy it from her, this book was a keeper and I was not giving it back. Three weeks into the book, I told her we have to attend this workshop. Four weeks and after reading it three times, I was sitting in front of Skip Lackey trainer of the Journey and head of the North America Team. Yes, within a month I was attending The Journey Intensive workshop and feeling energetically that something great was on its way. I just knew inside my soul, I was on my way to transformation.
Here was a person who not only understood true healing is in the core of our cellular mapping. But physical illness has a huge direct connection to our negative or/and traumatized emotions. The best part is that she had developed a road map that lead the way to the healing I had read in her book. Her name is Brandon Bays and her book, The Journey an International best seller.
In her book, Brandon takes us over a painful period of her life. The healing journey that she takes to self-heal a tumor is only but the beginning of a long journey. She opens herself up in ways that most people are painfully rushing to close up. As I read her words, her brevity and eloquence brought tears, anger, incredulity, disappointment, laughter, forgiveness, understanding and love, to my own awareness. Her story reminds me of the book of Job, a biblical story of a man that looses everything he ever held dear to him.
Everyone has a story to tell and mine is one of millions. As the last two years became my testing years, I too knew what it was to loose everything I held dear and thought to be safe and sure. However, knowing how the story of Job ends, I held tight to my faith. The lesson is to stay with the realness of what is presently going on in your own life. The moment we ignore our true feelings with substances abuse, no matter how benign it is, we are letting our bodies take in toxins and abuse. These build on over the years into illness and other attacks on the body. Some of these illness' can be signals to change a pattern or behavior.
The Journey workshop was all that I had expected it to be and more. That is, if you are truly interested and willing to invest in a type of healing that will significantly alter your life. Its primary goal is to bring awareness to your emotions with a step-by-step journey map. A process made simple for you and others to follow by the passionate and well trained trainers on staff. Skip Lackey's relax demeanor assured a safety in the room that allowed all of us to instantly come together as a group. His wonderful humor and antidotes were heart felt as we opened up our hearts to share all types of stories. Confidentiality is a major key to every workshop and as the old adage goes, "What happens here, stays here."
While Skip took the time to explain the many facets of memory cells, where hundreds of data gets collected throughout a lifetime. I could see and feel a room full of people opening up to a knowledge and a presence of awareness that had not been there just an hour earlier.
My own understanding on why I was there became as clear as a beautiful spring day. I came to make a difference for my own self. I came to witness the process I had read about in the book. I came to the journey to see how I can further empower my own clients. I came because there was woman that allowed her self to first be a witness for others and then teach what she had learned as a result, of her life experiences.
There were many stories shared, tears dropped, there was peace, joy, love and there was much healing done that weekend. In enjoying the benefits of the intensive weekend, I was able to heal a pain that had been with me all of my life. Definite changes came from that weekend and all within a month. The opening of my new Wellness Center is part of it. I relinquished many things that no longer served purpose to my higher self. As the weeks passed, I realize that my heart was now open to many new beginnings and possibilities.
Thank you Brandon Bays, for your courage to stay and stand your truth and above all for sharing your life with us. Thank you Skip Lackey, for delivering Brandon’s message to the fullest understanding. Your gift for passing the The Journey is touching thousands of lives. Thank you Aileda Lindal, for your call that night, for the wonderful people you attract and the gift you are.
