Beverly Vote
In 1992, Beverly Vote
was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 38. Her personal life and professional career
were thrown into a distraught tailspin. She learned that she had no point of reference for healing and no role model specific for breast cancer.
Her fears seemed to control her experiences until she learned there were ways she could indeed empower herself.
In 2006, Beverly created the Breast Cancer Wellness Magazine. The magazine is a quarterly full color printed publication that goes directly to thousands of breast cancer patients and survivors in all 50 states as well as to several thousand mastectomy centers, breast cancer support groups, and breast cancer centers and events. In addition, the magazine is available on line 24/7 at www.breastcancerwellness.org. The magazine was the 2007 recipient of the Don Ranly Publishers Award for Best Issue in its category and a contender for Best Article for the article "Service, Strength, and Survival."
Beverly also produces Inspire!, the internet radio show for breast cancer survivors. Beverly is a contributing writer for Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor's Soul, Dancing with Fear: Tips and Wisdom from Breast Cancer Survivors and The Pink Prayer Book. She was named 2007 Yoplait Champion, along with 24 other women and men from across the nation for their dedication in making a difference for breast cancer patients and survivors.
In addition to publishing, she owned and managed an insurance agency with the country's third largest carrier that was awarded multiple national awards throughout her insurance career. Beverly's background includes event marketing and management. Beverly is a Reiki Master and a Certified Healing Images Specialist. She and her husband David live near Lebanon, Missouri. They have two grown children and five grand-daughters.
